Journalism Course

The three-year course will teach you the practical skills of print and broadcast journalism, and the new frontier of reporting – online news http://www.thebouncenews.com/

Students are exposed to the ethical, legal and cultural issues affecting news media, guided by a team of dedicated and award-winning journalists and academics.

At Murdoch, student journalists are exposed to all facets of the profession, from creating newspapers or news ‘sheets’ to producing online works incorporating elements of radio (audio), tv (video) and print into one independent ‘Newsroom’.

The web site publishes a variety of reports by staff, students and graduates, including blogs, vlogs and features reflecting the rapidly growing world of online journalism.

Learning in a real newsroom environment, students have access to modern studios to broadcast news live on radio and online.

Third-year students also have the privilege of working in and with media organisations in WA and overseas as part of Murdoch’s professional placement program.
