The new Graduate Certificate in Design Thinking is an exciting new post-graduate qualification that explores design thinking in collaboration with industry-based clients. Students will work with human-centred design methods to engage practical problems from commercial, social and service design areas to create innovative ideas, concepts and solutions.
Design thinking has been applied to various sectors to assist in dealing with complex business and societal issues. Corporate giants, such as Apple and IBM for example, have credited design thinking for the successful development and innovation of their products, services and also business models. Governmental agencies around the globe have also been using design thinking to develop new ways for addressing complicated service issues.
The Graduate Certificate in Design Thinking provides realistic insight, via a real world client project, into how creative approaches are being used to generate innovative products and services for both business and societal industries around the world. The Graduate Certificate in Design Thinking is a precursor for the Graduate Diploma in Design Thinking and Service Innovation.
The Graduate Certificate in Design Thinking begins in Semester 1 2019 and can be studied in full-time and part-time modes.
